. ■'*■&. -floiirislmig state of affairs was disclosed in the retimis presented t-o tho annual meeting of tiio St. Patrick's branch of the Hibernian Society'at St. l'atriek's Hall on Monday evening, Bro. J. A. Sullivan presiding. The sick and funeral fund increased by the sum of £60, and during tho year good investments were found for the sum of £400. Tho sun; of £234 was expended in sick pay, whilst, the. branch's.contribution to the funeral fund, which is consolidated, was It, cost the branch £221 for medical attention , for its members and £S3 for medicine. The election of officers for tho ensuing half-year resulted as follows:—President, Bro. Jercjniali O'Brien (unopposed); vice-presi-dent, Bro. J. P. Jl'Gowan; treasurer and assistant-secretary, Bro. J. J. L. Burke (re-elected); warden, Bro, F. Whitaker (re-eleoled); guardian, Bro. P. Guilfoyle; sick visitors, Bros. P. ..O'Callaghan and 31. Condon; auditors, Bros. tl. Jl'Keowen and F. M'DonaM.
