Dodds, Ruy Lopez; Grierson v. Moore, Ruy Lopez; Miles v. Hicks, Centre Counter-gambit; Myers v. Mason, Ruy Lopez; Sev'enio v. Gyles, four knights game; Stewart v. Mason (Ruy Lopez).—An oversight on Mason's part at- the fourth raovo lost him a psiwn. He oventuallv regained tho pawn, but had a cramped position. After Soma manoeuvring he managed to freo his and, in the ■ end, won a pawn, leaving him with rock aim pawns against rook and pawn. He emerged with a winning end game, Wingfield resigning on the forty-first move. Bamos considers this was tho best game played against him m the tourney.' ■ • ' Miles v. Hicks (Centre Counter).— Both played carefully. Just before entering upon the end of the'game, Hicks succeeded in making a good combination, resulting in his getting a sccond queen. Miles resigned at move 40. Grierson v. Moore (Buy Lopez).—On Ins 9th move Grierson offered a bishop for the snlio of an attack, hat it was not accepted, and he had an attack on tho king's side, .but Moore castled on the queen side, neutralising it. Moor© exchanged pieces. After this Grierson won a pawn, but could not do .more than draw. •

Davies v. Dodds (Rity Lopez).—The game was fairly even for a long time. Davies, thinking ho could force a wilt, gave up tho exchange overlooking a sound reply, Later Dodds gained a knight for three pawns. After that ho captured some pawns, reducing Daviess's majority, and was ultimately left with rook against pawn when Davies resigned." •

Stewart v. Selling (Centre Gaunter). —Stewart' had a good game, but threw it. away, Selling won easily. Tho filial scores are:—
