MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the General Committes of tho Masterton A. and P. Association was held in the A. and P. rooms on Saturday, there being present: Messrs. 0. C. Cooper (president), D. Caselberg, G. H. Perry, W. J. Welch, G. C. Williams, W. Cooper, W. D. Watson, G. Shaw, C. F. Vallance, It. Gray, W. Perry, J. Strang, H. J. Dagg, H. Evans, Q. Donald, J. T. Dagg, and J. C. M'KiUop. Apologies wore received for tl\c absence of Messrs. A. J. Percy, J. Morris, and W. H. Buick.
Mr-. T. C. Webb, of the Agricultural Department, wrote stating that ho had a collection .of weeds, etc., which ho would bo glad-to loan to the association. —Tho offer was received with thanks. .
Mr. J. D. Poppleton, of Wellington, offered a prize of £2 2s. for stock by the siro Black Chief. Ho also offered a prizo of £1 Is. for an exhibition of cowboy riding.—lt was decided to infcrm "Mr.' Poppleton that there is already a class for ponies, and suggesting that ho give a special prize for ponies by Black Chief. No action waß taken in the matter of the cowboy demonstration.
The report of the Judges Selection Committee was read.
The • report of the meeting of tho Ground Committee, which was presided over by Mr. J. Strang, was read. The caretaker reported having finished sev-enty-two cattle pens, with feeders for holding green feed. Tho grass had been cut round the show ring, and other improvements • effected,. The clover for green feed was coming away well, and a start would be made next week with tho final preparations for the show. A sub-committee was set up, with power to act, to consider the question of erecting a permanent fruit stall on tho grounds. It was decided, on tho motion of Mr.' Harper, that the police haveivritton authority to control traffic and remove from tho grounds any person soliciting alms without permission of the association's officers.
Tho'Finance Committee's report was read. . Tho treasurer reported receipts for the month amounting to £43 10s. and expenditure £72 7s. 4d. . There was a debit balance, at date of £196 3s. Accounts amounting to £13 Rta 3d. wcr« recommended for payment. The report was adopted. ;
