Evans on Saturday, into the death' of Mrs. Myra Jeffrey, a middle-aged woman, who was taken ill at Quintal's Corner on Wednesday afternoon last, and who died shortly afterwards in Dr. Arthur's surgery. Constable John Thompson stated that at about i p.m. on January _7 ho found deceased in a semi-unconscious condition. Witness had carried her to Dr. Arthur's surgery in Lambton Quay. About four or fivo years ago-deceased was "oiii" under the name of Forties. Francis Arthur Blackett stated that he know deceased as Mrs. Reynolds about four years and a half ago in Christchurch. Witness's wifo had been told bv deceased that she .was married to Mr! Forbes, of Woodville. Deceased had been slaving at witness's residence at Tawa Flat on September 7 last, and had resided there.; over since.
