EOLIDAY CLASSES ARRANGED., Tho training of school-teachers by tho instructors of the Physical Education Department lias not been entirely suspended by tho arrival of tho summer Holidays. _In a number of instances small bodies of teachers liavo volunteered to assemble for a fortnight's instruction whilo tho holidays aro in procross. This will modify to some extent m the districts concerned tho difficulty Df carryhig on tho instruction, in tho ordinary way, whan the schools aro in session. One class of tcachcrs is to assemble at Wellington on January 17, and thirty women teachers will assemble for instruction at Petono during tho same fortnight. A class of two hundred teachers is to open- at Hastings- on' January 26/ When it has ran its cottrso the instruction'of teachers in Hawko's Bay will have, been practically completed. Still another class will open at Hawera on February 2. - In some cases tho male teachers will-camp'under canvas during tho period of instruction The Department is not confining its attention solely to the Stato schools. In Auckland, for instance, a number of Roman Catholic nuns who act as teachers in. their denominational, schools have applied, for. instruction-in the. new physical education syllabus.
