The Scottish Society of Wellington illtend celebrating the 155 th anniversary of tho birth of Robert Burns in the Town Hall Concert Chamber on Friday evening, January 23, when. Mr. J, Craigic, M.P., will deliver an address on the poet. Mr. Craigie has made. -a. special study of Burns, and tho success of the function should be assured. Besides the address by .Mr. Craigie, a first-class concert programme will.-;be submitted by leading Scottish artists,; including Miss Betty Purdotu, whose real Scottish accent is always very much appreciated by all those who hail frac tho land o' cakes. As the seating nc-. commodation in the chamber is limited, those who require the best seats would be well advised to procure their tickets from members of tho committee, and attend early. ■
