POLITICIANS FOR ENGLAND.
IMPERIAL AND DEFENCE „' CONFERENCES Arrangements are being made by tins Commonwealth branch of the intei-'Par-ltamentary Union for a visit to England in 1915. Tho union comprises representatives of the Commonwealth, the Dominions, and the Imperial Parliaments, and one of its objects is to prcmsoto an interchange of visits by representative men in each of the Legislatures. Tho trip in 1915 will follow on that which was made to Australia' by. tho British and Canadian politicians last year. . _ It is proposed that concurrently with the visit the next Imperial Conference shall be held, so that both Ministers and members will bo present in England together. At the time of tho Imperial Conference there will also bo a confd , - enco of Defence Ministers, as wn6 the case in 1911. There was an idea of having a conference next year, but the condition of political affairs in England stands in the way of a meeting. Tlie longer period which will be available will afford an opportunity for the Dominions and tlie Imperial authorities to fashion a policy relating to the defence of tho Pacific. ),V.; ? ;
