Austrian strikers fought a pitched battle on a hill overlooking the Tacoma smelter plant, at which the men hac) recently declared a strike. , Several persons'were injnred. A body of sharpshooters speedily silenced the Austriaiis after a fierce interchange of bullets. It is not known if tho Austrian? were injured. The militia were ordered out.
