LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

fair play? .'■ .;<:..v-it*.' Sir, , —I wonder what complaint those Arbitrationists on the wtiarves. will bo complaining of next;- 1 I guess' they are all complaints, and I nlso. reckon the employers' brain-box must have had a. severe, complaint when thoso famous resolutions of preference were- passed. Just look at the complaints they havo got those Arbitrationists into. Ido not think it iras fair for thoso resolutions to be brought ii)) at all, when we heard so much about British justice'and law and order during the. strike. 1 supposes it 5s British sportsmanship and British justice to strike an opponent wlten ho is down. I hope, not, because I always thought I was British when I always wished thn best man to win, and when lie had won to shake hands with his vanquished opponent. But I think I must havo been wrong in my thoughts. But never mind, it won't -make any difference if it is British, because I am not British —I am an Irishman, and, therefore, cannot be British. Because its Great Britain and Ireland, so poor Ould Oiroland is left out—it's not British. So just kindly ask Mr. Employer to reconsider his resolutions at his earliest, and ho will find the seat of all the complaints, that and that alone. 'Wellington was once noted for its quickness of dispatch of steamers. Is it now to loose its good name, just for the sake of pighcadedness? It matters little to me. if those resolutions are never rescind<r-d, because I will not be in* Now Zealand more than two months now. But it is for the sake of those poor unfortunate people who liave to remain in "God's forsaken country."—l am, etc., AN IRISHMAN AND A LOVER OF FAIR PLAY. COur correspondent's idea of fair play apparently is for tho Arbitrationists and employers to submit to the attempted terrorism of the Red Fedcrationists.] : . .-.
