The musicians engaged at tho picture shows refused to play for matinees unless guaranteed payment. The employers, prepared to recognise the recent award, refused to go outside its provisions. Many of the musicians ceased work,, and pianolas and other makeshifts ivero requisitioned. When tho men offered -themselves for evening engagements their services were declined.
