January 19, there will arrive, 51 boys for farm work in New Zealand! Their.passage money (£lO each) has been paid by farmers in the Dominion who havo expressed th* desiro to take them, and the boys will ho indentured to their new employers for three years. The Department has its officers at Homo choosing tho best kind of boys for'tho scheme, aud it is hoped that by this nifjss a new generation of farm' labour will be started in the Dominion. A second hatch of 50 ■bovs will arrive by tho steamer-Suffolk at' Auckland ou 'February 7. Nearly nil ot these- havo been bespoken, and it is certain that thoy will all bo placed before thev arrive. Further batches of immigrants arc due in the Dominion early in tho New Yen r. Tho Bte.nnor Rotorna, duo at Wellington on January 7, has 18 domestics, 30 farm-labourers, and .63 relatives, a to;a] of 110. Tho Ayrshire, duo at Auckland on January 19, ra bringing 7 domestics. C farm-labourers, and "41 relatives. "With her batch of 51'"farm boys," this brings her total to 105.
