An interesting experiment is to bo tried at once of turning all soldiers on furlough into active recruiting officers. Each man going t on furlough will bo supplied with specially'win ted postcards in. a cover; These will bear the address of tho recruiting.officer for the district in which the soldier is spending his furlough.' If the soldier meets a man who is desirous of enlisting, ho is to send on 6 of the postcards tn the recruiting officer, and if a recruit is thus obtained, the soldier's comnuvding officer will be authorised to credit him with a snccial recruiting :'rc-, ward.
