Tired of tin? fairly long period .of strike a>nd tho> diro results of their.voluntary refusal of work, thoso ex-strikers have resolved on obtaining admission the rinks of tlio new union ,if possible. ,A* special committee was set up by the new organisation to deal with applications for admission, and on Wednesday about 200 iiio.it were examined. To-day' the committeo resumed its deliberations, and about 170 work-seekers appeared before it. These were minutely examined as to their tendencies in. labour affairs, and those displaying regard or sympathy for Syndicalism- were promptly informed that their services would, be of no avail to the'mow anion. It was decided that tho representations of some could not be entertained. Between 30 and 40 wen signed on as Arbitration Unionists, but ! the remainder were informed that their applications would : be further considered. An announcement as to 'whether tJTeso men will' be.accepted or not is to be niado on Monday,
