Tho following are raised to tho peerage of tho United Kingdom as Barons: Right Hon. Sir Rufus Daniel Isaacs, Lord Chief Justice, formerly Attor-ney-General with a seat in the Cabinet. Lord Strathclyde (in the Scottish peerage, better known by his former title of Sir Alexander Tire), Lord President of tho Court of Session. Sir Charles Alfred Cripps, K.C.V.0., KiC., Unionist momber for the Wycombe Division of Bucks. Sir Harold Harmsworth, proprietor of several Liberal newspapers, who lias taken an active part in promoting the success of the County Tor* ritorial Associations. Ordors of Knighthood. Lord Emmott, Under-Secretary of State for tho Colonies, to bo a Knight of the Grand Cross, of the Order of St. Michael, and St. .George (G.C.M.G.). Knights Commanders (K.C.M.G.]P Hon. Arthur Lyulph Stanley, Governor of Victoria. Sir Stephen Henry Parker, K.C., lately , Chief Justice of _West Australia. Companionships (C.M.G.) Mr. C. Evans, Queensland Commissioner of Railways. _ ■ Mr. J. H. P. Murray, Lieutenant-Gov-ernor of Papua. Knights Bachelor. Professor Harry Brookes Allen, Dean of tho Faculty of Medicine at Melbourne University, author of many works on public health and special diseases. Hon.
