INSPECTOR'S GOOD REPORT
■ An inspection of tho timber resources in a portion of the Tahora .district, lying at tlio back of Kakanroa and Mntawai, has just been carried out by Mr. Jas. Brown, states tho local paper.- Tito inspection applied particularly to a block of East Coast Native- trust land - and that of other properties in the neighbourhood/ . f .
Mr. Brou'a declares that a rnueh'moM extended inspection is necessary.'to ascertain properly the extent of* - timber available, but from what ho saw there wore fully 0000.-.acros'of 'splendid milling timber and much of it as lino as any to be seen in the Motu district. ■ There iv<>re, however, about 12 miles of difficult, country to ■; negotiate, and tho ■utilisation of the ..valuable bush dopendpd entirely npon the. feasibility of obtaining more suitable ' access tho present roads in from'-'cither -M-atawai or I-takmiroa. .
