Around tho Harbour, .- Although tho season is well advanced, Mr. Oscar Freyberg is still engaged in "putting on the finishing touches to his : yacht Siren. Tho vessel was launched last week, and her overhaul is rapidly ,nearing completion. „ She is to leave • shortly for a short eruiso in the Sounds, and when she returns preparations are 'to.be made for a. cruise in the Milford Sound. . Tho To Ruru Yacht Club's fleet' is .wolr represented in the Sounds. The 'yachts Trixie, ltuihi, Rawciie, Viking, and the launches, Tangaroa, Melba, and Pakeha have all ..gone, across the Strait. Stray Notes. At the Otago annual regatta held 011 Boxing Day, , the well-known "flier" .Janet sailed home second in the .firstclass . yacht race, behind the Tholma (with lOmin. allowance). In spite of it ho Janet's 9jmin. start, she was unable to capture tho £15 prize, but if "Toot" Forbes had been at the helm the result might easily have been in tlw Janet's favour. The Port Nicholson Yacht Club will continue its racing programme on Saturday next, when ladies' handicap races, for first and second-class yachts will lie decided. On January 22 the club will hold its annual regatta, and on January 31 the ocean yacht race will be decided {weather permitting). The first and second-class championships will be decided 011 February 21.
