CITY INQUESTS. Yesterday . Mv. J. S. Evans, S.M., opened an.inquiry into tlio circumstances of the death of Willtain • Frederick' Taylor, an elderly mail, who was found dead in bed in a Wellington hotel on Wednesday. Tlie deceased's son, Mr. W. F. Taylor, of Nelson, gave evidence of identification, arid the inquiry was then 'adjourned; , The dato of resumption has not been-fixed. The day for the inquest touching the death of Randolph 0. Stowart, a tram conductor, who died on Wednesday from injuries received wliilo ho wa.j travelling on the'top of a double-decker tramcar, lias not yet been decided upon.. A hotel porter named George Web. st'er attempted to comriiit suicide this evening by cutting his throat with a razor. Ho was convoyed to tli© hospital in a critical condition.
