BOXING.
(By Tclerrauh.—Press Association.) Timaru, Dooembor 29. The Timaru Boxing Association has arranged to hold a boxing contest on New Year's Night. The chief item will be a heavy-weight championship between Sid. Fitzsimmons and Bartlett. Fitzsimmons was in Sydney., and was communicated with, and promised to 'come, and at his request the passage money (£l3) was sent him. He has net turnod up, and unless lie arrives tomorrow, which is not expected, tho mooting will be abandoned. Bartlett and others aro here, and the abandonment means a considerable loss to the assoI ciation.
