Two subjects arc being specially emphasised by tho two great Presbyterian Churches of Scotland at the present time (says an exchange). The Established Church has begun, 'through tho. person of its Moderator, what may ho called a 'Campaign of recruiting for its ministry. ; Dr. Wallace Williamson appeared on Sunday evening in the debating hall of the Students' Union of Glasgow University, and addressed a large gathering on "Tho Need of Men ■to Servo in the Ministry." Ho came, he said, as a representative of tho Genoral Assembly, which had appointed _a commission to visit tho various uni-versities--with a view of laying before students the claims of tho ministry. The ministers who entered tho Divinity hnlls annually woro less than tho actual numbers required to fill the vacancies which occurred during tho year. There were not many—if any—worldly inducements that could he held out to men in that profession, but there wcro other attractions of a very high order. Tho ministry called men to ambassadorship for Christ'-.'in "the-"threo spheres 'of preaching, worship, and pastoral work. Mr. Simple: "Will voii bo mine, darling?"
