POSTAL REQUIREMENTS AT PARAPARAUMU.
Sir,—Might I, through the nisdium of your columns, draw tho attention of tho Postmaster-General to the requirements of Paraparanmu for a new post office? Tho present antiquated quarters in a store aro quite inadequate to meet tho volume of mail matter passing through daily. The stop-gap Government, when approached on the subject, had a trifling enlargement made in the_ telephone .department-, but still there is little, or no privacy in either the dispatching of telegrams or thq receiving of mails. It is decidedlj* unpleasant for business men.. Often a delay occurs owing to tho demand for corset, sardines, or something else, tho store being so'small and crowdcd with seasoTi's stocks as'to bo.entiiely, unsuitable for a post- cfficc. There is a post, cffico reserve, most, conveniently situated to tho township and I'think tho attention of tho Government has only to bo drawn to this grievance to have, a new office suitable to the'' requirements of this ever-increasing and popular resort erected.—-I am, etc., AY. OLPHERT. December 29, 1913, ■■
