DANNEVIRKE SHOW.

The prize schedule for the forthcoming show of tho Dannevirko A. and P. Association has been printed and circulated, and as it is fully six weeks till tho event, intending exhibitors will havo ample time to mako. preparations. The long list of names at tho commencement of the book indicates that in tho important matter of membership the association stands in a very satisfactory position, the- number on. the roll at> tho present time approximating '650. Tho list of trophies, spccial prizes, and donations, further betokens in a very marked way the live interest taken, iu tho association's affairs by members aud supporters. 'I'lic schcdulo itself is drawn up on much tho same linos as last, year, an increase in prize ir.onoy having been allotted thrdllghout tho draught horso classes to place these on a fairer footing by comparison with the other stock sections. Among the competitions there will. be found several new and attractive items. The usual hunters' events are always popular, while the ex.tra item's include a high jump, turning competitions (on both days), and a class for tho bestpaced hack, tho first prize being a tenguinea cup presented by Mr. l'\ Armstrong. There nro also classes for the best harness horse, stylo and action, up to 14 hands and over 14 hands, which will give every harness horse competing in tho show an extra class. In amateur stock. judging competitions there will he ample scope, and it is hoped that amongst farmers' sons and young farmers there will be a considerably larger number of competitors than last- year, when those classes were first introduced. There are five separate classes this time, viz., Romney, Lincoln, and Southdown sheep, dairy cattle, and saddle horses. A large number of schedules has already been distributed, aud any intending exhibitor may obtain one on application to the secretary.
