PARAPARAUMU NOTES.

■At present Paraparaumu is filled with: visitors, Kapiti House is taxed t'o its fullest extant, and amongst tho guests staying there are Mr. Bonnie and family, of Wellington. ' A progressive euchre partv anddanco was held in the Coronation Hall on Friday evening,- and was well ■patronised. The entertainment was promoted m aid of Mother Aubert's Home. Tho jatly prize-winners in the cuchro tournament were Miss 11. Fitton 1, Mjss . IC. Lynch 2. Miss. N. Wootten taking tho consolation prize. Tho gentlemen winners' were Mr. Mahoney 1, Mr. A. Williams 2, Mr. M. Lynch, in a brief speech, thanked tlioso present for having attended so well to further a good causo. To Miss K. L.vncli and Messrs M. Fislier, -Kainsford, and Anderson great praise is duo for tho troublo they took in promoting find making a suecess of tho entertainment. Dancing was kept up with spirit until an early hour. Amongst those present were •Misses K.and M. Lynch. Veda R-vder, Q. and N.\ Drewett, A. Field, N. >>oo* ten, Mrs. Walkev, Miss Hides (2). Mrs. Swift; and tho gentlemen, Messrs. Lynch (3V Drewitt, Olphert, Hinde, Hudson, O'Rourke, A. Williams. Mr. Boyes and family, wlio have been residents hem for some time, left last AVoduosday for tlic-ir ijch* homo at Whakataua. They received a groat send-off at tho station from a largo number of friends. • Both tho churches here were boautifullv decorated for Christmas, St. Luke's bv Mrs. Hadfield, assisted by Miss Fitton and Mrs. Jones, while the Roman Catholic Church was under the direction of' Misses K. and M. Lynch. Mr. W. Howell and family and. Mr. Vaughan and family are enjoying their holidays under canvas on the beach. Tho'need of a new post office, becomes moro apparent daily.-the present building being quite inadequate for the voluriio of business transacted, mid t-liero is a post office reserve lying idle.
