It is reported from Dawson City, Yukon, that • a RoyaF North-West Mounted Police expedition has been arranged during the annual police patrol from Dawson to Fort Msepherson, to investigate Hersclie! Island for a trace of' Stefanssoii's party. Tho expedition will start on January 2, and proposes to cover a distance, with dag teams, equal to that mopped out by Stefanssoh for exploring the northern ice.
