PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED,
Several promotions in tlio Police Force are announced. ■ Sergeant. Thomas Barrett, of Nelson, and Sergeant W. 0. Wohlniann, of Waihi, aro promoted to tho rank of senior sergeant as from January 1 nest. Tliov will remain in their present stations. Tiieso officers are two of tho sonior of tho sergeants ,wh<> passed the recent xwamit.siion. ConstaMo Parsons, of Russell, has been promoted to tlvo rank of sergeant and transferred to Auckland to fill a vacancy therfe. Courtages J. A. Cruickshank, of Ross, and i-L D. Armour, of Patea, havo teen made sergeants and transferred to tho Mount Cook station in Wellington.
