An old man nanied Stratford vaa the victim of an open-crossing accident at 7.30 this evening. When a goods train was passing the post oilica he was crossing the line, and apparently did not hear the'train approaching. He was struck bv the engine aiid thrown cloai of the line. Kenderdine, .slicep-iarrner, llangaroa, died last night as n result of tablets containing strychnine belonging to one of the workmen. FOUND IN HARBOUR. - Soon after midnight on .December 12 last it was reported to the police that Mrs. Temple White was missing from hor home at 19 Charlotte Avenue, Brooklyn. Her relatives first found her to be missing between 8 and 9 o'clock ill tho evening, and as they were unable to find any trace of hor tlioy communicated with tho constable in charge of tho suburb. It appears that Mrs. Whito had been mentally depressed for some vears, and her relatives had reason to fear that she would make for tho waterfront and lie drowned. These fears have been confirmed, as last night a body was found floating in the harbour in tho vicinity of the Glasgow Wharf, and, en being taken to the morgue, was identified by the clothing as that of the missing Mrs. White. Deceased was thirty-three years of age. Her father-in-law*'resides at Brooklyn. An inquest will prcibably be hold this afternoon.
