HOODLUMISM IN AUCKLAND.
A "SPECIAL" ROUGHLY' HANDLED. (By Tclosrapli.—Press Association.) Auckland, December 21. Several disturbances occurred on the waterfront late last night, tho result being that two men wore arrested for assault. Shortly after 10 p.m., when tho Manuka was preparing to leave for Sydney, two firemen disagreed concerning tho recent strike, and as a, result one, named Brewing, was taken into custody. A spccial constable was attacked shortly after eleven by several hoodlums, and was knocked senseless and kicked several times. A seaman camo to the rescuo and was set upon by threo of a gang and roughly handled, 'llio police then appeared -and arrested one of the crowd, and from his statement more arrests are likely.
