Tho president (Mr. W. D. Hunt) explained that the matter had been beforo tho Finance Committee, when it was decided to recommend a donation of £11), tho feeling-(being.', that the Bluff, watersiders, having kept at their posts, .were entitled to somo appreciation from to body like the association. It would ,)iot bo . a contribution to tho funds of tho union, but for distribution, among its members. It was mentioned that all tho dairy factories had moved in tho samo 'direction, and the president remarked .tliat, when all tho contributions were received hv the men, they would be found-to total a fair amount. Tho recommendation of tho conunitteo was adopted. All the dairy factories in Otago and Southland arc being circularised, and promises for over CIOO are to liand. It-is proposed to make tho presentation at tho Bluff on Monday, December 22.
