CHRISTMAS MAIL SERVICES.
On Christmas Day tlio Chief Post. Office will bo closed in all branches. Tho only dispatch 'of mails for Wairarapa, Hawko's Bay, Jlanawatu, Kangitikei, Wangamii, Taranaki, and Auckland districts will close on that day at 6.30 a.m.-, and mails for dispatch by steamers will close tho previous evening at 8 p.m. There will bo no clearances of tho city and suburban receivers, but all tho city central, To Aro.- ami Thorndon receivers will bo closed the previous evening at 6 p.m., Wellington South 5 p.m., and all others at 4 p.m. Tho midnight clearances will he maclo as usual. There will not be any delivery by letter-carriers. On Wednesday, December i'-t, the inquiry counter will bo open from 8 to !) p.m. for the delivery of all correspondence addressed to the Chief Post Office, and the same evening tho inquiry counter in the Letter-car-riers' Department will bo noon from 8 to 9 p.m. for delivery of all correspondence addressed to streets in the eity'and suburbs; also the public counter in Parcels Department will ba open from 8 to 9 p.m. On Boxing Day the Chief Post Office will bo open in all branches, except tha Money-order and Savings Bank Department, from !) to 10 a.m. Tho only disnatch of mails for Wairarapa. Hawko's liny, Manawatu, Han<jitikei. Wangamii. Taranaki, and Auckland districts will clrse at G. 30 a.m., and mails for dispatch hy steamers will cbso nt 8 a.m. The city and suburban receivers will not be cleared during tho day, but the midnight, clearances will bo mado aa usual. Tho lotter-carriers will make one full delivery in tho city and suburbs, for which all correspondence roust be posted at the Chief Post Offico by 7 a.m.
