In order that tlio masses may bo ablo to view tho famous picture, "Tho Shadow of tho Cross," which will be oil exhibition on Monday, from 1 to 5 o'clock, in Harcourt's Rooms, for a short season, Mr. Edwin Kilpatrick announces that adults will be admitted for sixpence and children for half-price. Continuous reception will I* held throughout tho afternoons only. It is advised that elderly people who have not tho best of eyesight attend as early in the afternoon as possible. The Christmas issue of tho "World's News," which is advertised to-day on our leader page, and will be on sale at all newsagents, comprises possibly the cheapest pennyworth of news ever placed before the Australasian reading public. Tho paper, '18 pages, is illustrated, has numerous short stories, and includes the starting of a splendid dramatic rtory, entitled "On His Majesty's Service." a talo of early Van Diemen'a Land (Tasmania).
