Westport, December 18. At tho Police Court to-day, before Mr. Siinps-on. J.l'., Dan Alexander, a memIw of tlio Westport Strike Committee, was fined £2 and costs, or fourteen daysimprisonment. for applying the word '■scab" to a local business man. l'rairli Haceu, lor a similar offence, was iancd 10s, and costs,, or 43 hours imprisonment, Alexander asked for threo months in which to pay. He satdl ho had done no work for eight wceks,_ Ho wa-s ordered to pay within a 'fortnight
