A man named Henry Armstrong has surrendered to tho police for shooting dead a man named Wilson at Mascot, allegedly in self-dci'dice. The details of the affair have not been disclosed. (Rec. December iB, 8.15 p.m.) Armstrong, who is a man of twentysix yonrs of ago, has been charged with the- murder of Albert Wilson. Counsel for the defence stated that Armstrong was a highly-respected resident, of Mascot. Wilson had been worrying and postering him for somo'timo past, and had said that he would have his life by fair means or foul. Armstrong had . in coiisequenco been obliged to seek police protection. J Wilson, lust night, came to Annstrong's door, niid drew a revolver, but Armstrong, drawing his revolver, fired first, and afterwards surrendered himself to the police. The police say that Armstrong saw Wilson put his hand into his pocket, and. that tho former saw there a revolver, but the weapon was not loaded.
