(From Our Special Correspondent.) i 0 The now Salvation Army Hall, which is being erected at Lower Hutt, only •requires painting to comploto it. Its location is just . beyond tlio Courthouse at Lower Hutt. The opening ceremony will probably bo held about the beginning of January. No further inovo on the part of tlio Petonc Transit Company in its .proprjsal to start a motor-bus scrvicc in j I'etone is yet reported. Tlio company is said to ho still awaiting developments. Tlio last sitting of tlio Hutt Valley Magistrate's Courts for tho current year was held yesterday at l'otone. Tho Magistrate will not sit again in ilio Unit Valley till tho latter end of January. A team of twelvo cadets from tho Petono Technical School is to leave shortly for tho Auckland Exhibition to take part in tho tent-pitching and routo marching competitions in January. The president of tlw Potonn Municipal Hand (Mr. J. W. M'ftwan) has presented a gold medal for competition to (lie himmrs' elas.s. This is to ho awarded to the most improved player. Another resilient has offered a medal lo the band;; who atleiuls practice most.
