TO STATEMENT BY MR, YOUNG. (By TelCEranli.—Press Association.! Napier, December 17. Mr. P. H. Kelly, managing director of Kieharclsons ami Co., asked if it was true, as set out in Mr. AY. T. Young's telegram, that tlie local seamen were still remaining "solid to the strike," said such a statement was absolutely wrong, the majority of the local men lmving returned to work. [Speaking to a Dominion- reporter yesterday, a prominent shipping man, who is intimately connected with Port Alniriri, said that tlirco of Messrs. liiehardson and Company's steamers were running, and that they wore manned by twelve of their old hands. Two of the vessels—the Fannj and Koutunui— were loading wool up the northern part of the cast coast, and another—the ■\Vc-ka—was running . wool from the southern part of the coast to Napier. It was also slated that- when (lie seamen employed on Messrs. Richardson and Co.'s steamers were ashore, members of the Watcrsido Workers' Union filled t-hoir E-laces.J ;
