RETURN OF CARGO HANDLED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Dunedfn, December 16. A total of 318 men have been employed on tho Dunodin wliarves since work was restarted; 21 havo joined ships as seamen, and 30 returned to the country. An official return.submitted to tfio Commerce Protection Committee this morning shows tliat since December ■ 1 0750 tons of cargo have been loaded, ami 14,530 tons discharged, a total of 21,230 tons handled. Heavy rain .set in this morning at noon, and operations had to be suspended on most of the vessels working oarsio at the wharves. Tho Kruno was busy discharging eoai in the morning, and tho Pukaki also worked. Tho latter will leave on Thursday for Timani. Wellington, and Auckland, Tho Policnm, was compelled to cease operations at neon. Her future movements arc uncertain. The Tnrakina finished unloading, and took in about 120 tons of amoral carso.
