MAHENO'S VOLUNTEERS EMBROILED WITH HOODLUMS. Br TeJeEraDh— Vtbsk Association—Couyiiih; Sydney, December 16. A ' party of New Zealanders who formed portion of tho Maheno's scratch crew on the last trip, .when watching the departure- of the Manuka, camo into collision with tho crowd on the wharf. They were somewhat roughly handled, hut managed to make good in tho rough-and-tumble. They do not blame the unionists, the row being attributed to tho hoodlum element. NO CHANGE IN LABOUR SITUATION. -' (Rec. December 16, 9.30 p.m.) Sydney, December 16. Matters along the waterfront to-day are unchanged. The Trades Unionists' conference has not received any further information from New- Zealand, and has adjourned till to-morrow. Free labour is working the cargo from the Ultimata and Canada Cape. Tho employees of the Union Box Company are still maintaining that the Ultimata's timber is "black." VESSELS' MOVEMENTS. (Rec. December 17, 0.35 a.m.) Sydney, December 16. Tho Makura and Tofua have got supplies of coal at Newcastle, and arc returning to Sydney on Wednesday morning. Tho Makura sailed for Vancouver via Auckland on Thursday. The Maunganui returns to Wellington on Saturday.
