Serious riots occurred in connection with a strike of factory hands at St. Louis. Mothers, with children in their arms, protected strikers whilo tho latter assaulted tho police, who wcro thus powerless, and unable to uso their clubs. After reinforcements arrived tho police attacked tho women, scattering them, and then arrested 70 of the demonstrators.
