What To Do Now? ■ :; '?'*» Tho chairman said that ho did not know whether it would be any use opening up negotiations with Auckland again, but lie was in favour oi sending a telegram and making on© further attempt to have the- fixture carried out. .. Several members objected to any further parleying with the Auckland Association, believing that no good would result from i'uitlier correspondence. Mr. Boechey said that it was quite clear that Auckland and Canterourj knew what eaeh other was donig, anc it was qiiito clear also_ that those tfft associations were running the show, am. that Wellington and Otago were onlj to conio in to make somo concession oi other. _ _ ■ Mr. Fanning was against making an} further overtures to tho Auckland Association. Ho thought that the dispute should be referred to the council. The Auckland Association was not keeping faith, and should bo informed of it.' If Wellington accepted this treatment from Auckland, tho same treatment might then ho expected from any other association. Mr. Midlano did not think -that'there was as yet any dispute to refer to the council. With so ninny of their men in Australia they were sure to be beaten by Wellington as were the Can- : terbury representatives. Eventually on tho motion .o£ tlio chairman it was decided to make ono more effort to arrange the match and ■ to telegraph the- Auckland Association reminding them of the arrangement for. an annual fixture, and urging them to come down and play at Wellington at Christinas ■ The chairman then moved:—"That' in the event of tho. Auckland . reply proving unsatisfactory, ihac a subcommittee consisting of Messrs. liiulane, Mason, George, and tlio secret-cry bo empowered for a toitiri to visit Wellington during the ChtisLmas dates, or make other suitable arrangements for a match." This was seconded and carried. ■ ■■-. ■ Miscellaneous Matters. , ; Letters.were received from the Canterbury, Otago, and-Southland associations reporting that satisfactory arrangements had been made* lor accommodation for the Wellington touring team. The New Zealand' Council wrote stating that ths fourteenth, roan in the Dominion team bad bseu sent to Aus-' tralia, under a guaranty as follows: — Ciiristchuich .citizen £30, Canterbury Association £13, and the council the. remaining £31). .
