The general opinion is that Labour has too big a start to be overtaken. The Hon. F. 51.' B. Fisher addressed a large nicotine; of LytteUon electors at ; Sumner to-niglit. ■ He spoke at length on the connection between the Federation of Labour and the Social Democratic party, nnd said that if the electors returned Mr. M'Conibs they would put in a political boomerang. Ho stated that only oiio monopoly had grown sinco tho present Government came .into power, and that was the Federation of Labour. Mr. Fisher is also, speaking at Lyttelton to-night, and .is discussing matters on the platform with _Mr. W. T. Mills, of the Social Democratic party.
