A Cisborne Wedding. ( On Wednesday last the wedding took ■ place quietly .at "Heathedea," Kaiii, ■-. the town residence .of Mr. and Mrs. G. Powell, late of Tokoniaru Bay, of their eldest daughter, Miss Muriel Powell, to t Mr. 11. Mummery, ]of j Thames, England. ■. The bride, who was j given away by her father, wore white silk with lace coatee and white hat j with lancer plumes. She carried a' j beautiful shower bouquet of white roses j and asparagus ferns. The three little j sisters were bridesmaids, and wore , pretty white embroidered dresses and white silk sashes. They carried bouquets of pale pink and mauve sweet, pea, and wore pretty gold', forget-me-not brooches, the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr, C. A. de Lautour acted as best ! man.: Afternoon tea was served in the' ; dining-room, which was beautifully de-. : coroted with pale pink roses and white 1 sweet poas, with- a large wedding-bell in the centre of the room, Mr. and ■ Mrs. Mummery left for Muriwai, amidst showers of rose leaves, for a few days ; before proceeding to their future honie in Buenos Ayres.' _ Mrs, Powell wore a ' pretty pale grey silk dress, , arid carried a beautiful[ bouquet of pile pink roses. " An Australian Artl9t. Miss Gristina Asquifch Baker, a clever Australian-painter, lias been making her bow to London art lovers during the last three weeks, at the Baillie Gailory. Her Australian landscapes caused much interest. The largest pictures were: "A Quiet Morning" and a summer scene called "Dead Timber."
