Dcspito tho recent rains tho Kelburno green was in excellent condition, and a largo number of members assembled on Saturday. 'Tho Championship pairs competition, which is exciting eonsider- , ablo interest, is .rapidly reaching its final stage. A few competitors who have not completed their round within tho .specified time aro reminded that tho non-compliance with tho regulations governing the competition render •them liable to disqualification in tho rounds not' completed. A match between the holders—Hutchison, Scott, Johnson, M'Robie (O —and a team of challengers composed of l!,. C. Gannaway, Professor Kirk, Dugina, Williamson (s.), was played on Saturday, the gamo throughout beinsj most even and exciting. On the tweii" tiotli head the scores were 10 to 15 in favour of Williamson. On tlie skips going up, M'Robie laid the shot. Both skips failed to improvo the positions with tlfcir first bowls, but Williamson's second attempt was a beauty and lay. M'Robie, however, rose to "the occasion, and by . a well-directed running shot displaced the shot bowl and lav two, thereby retaining tho cup by the narrow margin of one.
