PALMERSTON ITEMS.
After the final performanco of tho opera "Dorothy" on Friday evening, Dr. Martin, president of the Operatic Society, entertained members at supper at the Municipal Hall, where speeches and presentations occurred. Mrs. H. Palmer received a pieco of silverwaro, Miss Bett (accompanist), and Madam Connop also received presentations, whilo other ladies also received souvenirs. The committee which is promoting tho Hospital Day collections met on Saturday evening, and mado final arrangements for next Saturday's event. The Mayor and two board members (Messrs. ,C. N. Clausen and F. J. Nathan) visited Feilding on Saturday, and met Mr. Ongley (the Mayor), and the Feilding committee, who have arranged another meeting for Tuesday for final arrangements. Friday will probably be the day selected for Feilding. Plans aro being prepared for a now building for the Bank of Australasia in Broad Street. This will be the third new bank in courso of erection, the others being tho Bank of New Zealand and the Bank of New South Wales.
