Council en I'riduv night a long report from the Terry Board was rend, detailing at considerable length the work that had been done from the inauguration of the, lorry service on September 1 to date. A final settlement between tho Wellington Harbour Ferries Co., Ltd., in respect of apportionment of season tickets, insurances, j;ii(. stores, etc., had, it was stated, yet to be made, a, difference of opinion having uritgon, between the board find tho company in respect of certain accessories to the ferry business ami tho cost of repairs. These points of difference had been amicably discussed,, kit it might bo necessary to submit them to arbitration, ss provided by the agreement. Mr. C. B. M'orison, K.C., is to be the arbitrator for both parties. •.'■' The sub-committee appointed to report;' as to the Ferry Board's powers recommended that all the business of tho ferry service should be super-tired by the board, which should report monthly to the council, sending in a four-weekly account of receipts and disbursements, and a quarterly statement of income and expenditure under the various headings.
