LIEDERTAFEL CONCERT.

A delightful concert was given ill the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, last night —the third by the Wellington Lieciertalel tins season. There was fair public patronage, and that- the whole audience loiintl tiie evening particularly enjoyable is beyond question. The company's ei-fort-s were rewarded with tho heartiest iif applause. Rcethcvcn's "Springtime" was chosen for an opening pari song, and its rendition gave a fair indication of the quality of what was to tallow, .Mr: K. S. Farmer sang "The Lovely Month of Jlay" (Schumann) and "Moonlight" (Schumann), both very artistically. Attractive features of the evening were the two items for clarinet

and piano, played by Messrs. 11. Moschini and Robert Parker. The first of theso was the "Adagio l'or Clarinet and Pianoforte" (Mozart), and the second Tschaikowsky's "Romance for Clarinet aiid Pianoforte." Each was a musical treat. Several fine solos were sung by Madame, Edith Brainsby. in "Stili wis die Naelit" (Bohm), the power of her voice was very striking, and with this number was cc-itploit "Damon" (Max Stance). Laier in the evening Madame captivated the audience witli "Rose'in the Bud" (Dorothy Korster), and "Where My Caravan has Hosted" (Hermann Lohr). The latter she sang so charmingly that the demands for an encore had to be acccded to. Mr. Stanley Natusch was heard, in "When" (Edward N T ichcll), and "A UnHad of Kisses" (Reginald Somerville). Tlic merry part song, "A Franklyu's Doggo" (A. C. Mackenzie), from tho "Jngoldsby Legends," and ;i quaint littlo number entitled "Two Snails" were two of the best of iho part songs. Other concerted numbers were "Loud Sang tho Spanish Cavalier" (Coleridge-Taylor), "Gondolier's Serenade" (Schubert), and "An Odo to Music" (Mylos I). Foster). In the lastnamed the soloist was Mr. J. W. Card. The entertainment concluded with the cantata, "Salamis" (Gornfiheim), in which Mr. F. V. Waters took the baritone solo. The cantata is an expression of Greek patriotism at the iime of the triumph of t!w Grecian over the Persian licet. It is, in fact, a song of triumph. Mr. Rolwrt_ Parker was conductor, and Mr. D. A. Kenny pianist.
