DUNEDIN SEAMEN MOVING.
.. TO STOP THE STRIKE. JOINING IN WITH AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Frees Association.) DUROdin, December 10. It is understand that two delegates from . tho ■Dunedin branch of tho Seamen's Union had an informal conference this morning with Mr. Holdsworth, general manager of tho Union Company, and that, as a result, several misapprehensions wero cleared up. Tho seamen hold a meeting to-night, and aro awaiting advico from Auckland to sec whether another conference can beheld at Wellington between the delegates from tho two northern centres and Dunedin. Should it bo decided to hold such a conference two delegates will leavo Dunedin to-morrow morning for Wellington. From what can be gathered it would appear that Dunedin and Auckland are now prepared to work together to bring about an ending to tho present unsatisfactory position in which the soamen have been placed, and enable them to return to work.
