THE LATE MR H. N. FLETCHER

■BENEFIT TO BE GIVEN. At a meeting held in the . Mayer's room last evening it was decided that an entertainment should be held in tlia Town Hall for the purpose of collecting funds for the- widow and family of tho late Mr. H. N. Fletcher, who was a well-known Wellington vocalist. Tho Mayor (Mr. J. I*. Luke) presided, and the meeting was very well attended. The Mayor referred to the good work which Mr. Fletcher had done, and mentioned how freely he had always given his services to help oil any good cause. Messrs. E. A. Ivecnan and J. Dykes were elected joint secretaries, and Mr. W. Eraser treasurer. Arrangements 'for the entertainmentprogramme worn loft in the hands of Messrs. A. W. Newton, E. 3. Hill, n-nd the secretaries.
