Holly Lodge,. No. li (J.A.0.0., held its half-yearly meeting in tho Old Masonic Hall, Johnsonville, on Saturday evening. Bro. W. Brown presided over a largo attendance of members. Correspondence was read and dealt with. Tho bards reported one sick member, who was making favourable progress. Tho secretary reported on progress of tho half-year, which, lis stated, had been vory successful, £930 had been invested ;ifc 5J per cent., and the interest derived had not- only mot i all the sick pay, hilt had left a surplus!' | notwithstanding tho fact that the'last half-year was n record one for sickness and accident, tho bulk of sick pay going to'accident cases. Tho report and balance-sheot Wero adopted, the bal- ■ ancc-slieot showing a substantial incroaso in each fund. Great interest was ovinced in tho election of officers, which resulted as follows:—A.I). Bro. A. Parratt; V.A., H. V. Morgan; Secretary, A. M'Mahon j treasurer, T. F. Edge: 1.G., J. T. Gray; 0.G., J. Bingo; A.D.li.'s, A. Washington and W. Sebrio; V.A.B.'s, W. 11. Barton and Yv. Harris ; auditor, AV. Pope. The election of .District President then took, place, tho present D.l\ assisting in tho conduct of the election." Tho result cannot be announced until after the election in other lodges. The candidates wero I'.A., Bra. W. Ritson (Excelsior Lodge), and T. F. Edge (Holly Lodge). D.P. Bro. L. Boock, who was present as installing officer, eulogised tho officers and congratulated the lodge on its prosperity, Ho emphasised tho desirability of .looking for a good investment for the surplus cash, and ventured to predict that in the near future Holly Lodge would stand, not only in tho forefront of Druidism from the financial point., but prominent in friendly society circlcs. The secretary reported having concluded tho new agreement with tho doctor, which was considered to bo satisfactory. A vote of thanks to tho visitors concluded the business of the evening.
