Ounsdin, December 8, A fortnight ago about half a dozen members of the Port Chalmers Fire Brigade decided to resmn as a protest against taking orders from an officer who was alleged to havo worked 011 tho liokoia during docking operations, thereby doing work which would 1.-avo be-i'ii done by unskilled labour if t'ho men had not been on strike. At a meeting of t'ho council to-night it was reported that 11 men out of tho 15 men had resigned. The men will attaul fires as usual pending a settlement of t'ks difficulty.
