Mrs. Panklmrst has boon released, as it- was found ,to be impossible to forcibly feed her owing to tho state of her heart. A great Suffragette meeting in London wildly chcered the release. ILL. (Rec. December 8, 10.10 p.m.) London, December 8. Mrs. Pankhurst has been granted a week's license. She is vorv weal;. It is rumoured that she is suffering from pleurisy.
The Dean of Exeter (Dr. Enrle), at the instance of a deputation of Suffragettes, introduced Mrs. Pankhurst's naino into tho prayor for "those distressed in mind, body, and estate." Tho collection at tho. meeting realised £15,000, which sum included £4500 collected during Mrs. Pankhui'st's American tour. CLERGYMEN'S PROTESTS. London, December 7. The Bishop of Kensington, Dr. Maud, presided at a clergymen's demonstration ill tho Queen's Hall'against forcible feeding. The meeting was largely attended. Suffragettes present broke into shouts of abuse and 4nado other interruptions when the' chairman reproved tho militants for burning nnd wrecking property and brawling in tho churches. _ 1$ was resolved that forcible feeding was wanton torture, ineffectual for proserving liealth, and a method unworthy, of a. Christian community. INCENDIARIES AT WORK. London, December 7. Suffragettes marked Mr. Asquith's visit by burning tho Ruhholmo Exhibition Hall, South Manchester. The damage is estimated at £12,000. They also set fire to tho Liverpool Exhibition, and damaged the scenic railway. They attempted to burn the grandstand on the Aintreo racecourse.
