RESULT OP.BAZAAR AND PAGEAJnT. • A meeting of thoso who assisted in tho recent Boys' Institute pageant and bazaar was held in the Mayor's room at tho Town Hall 011 Saturday evening, Mr. G. A. Troup in tho chair. Statements were submitted by the lion, treasurer, Mr. I). Menkes, showing separately tho results of tho bazaar and pageant. TIIO ba/aar statement indicated that the receipts from all sources were £1107 os.Td,, and-the disburse-' incuts £205 7s.' 2d,, lcavitig ft n*t surplus of £931 18s. Sd. Mr. Troup expressed tho opinion, that all those who so kindly assisted had every reason to bo highly gratified at the result of their labours, particularly in view of the fact that tho strike so seriously interfered with this effort. The, balance-sheet as submitted was approved on the motion of Mrs, 8011, seconded by Miss I£. Holm. The balance-sheet ol : tho pageant showed that ike receipts were £874 17s. ijd., and the disbursements £286 J7s. 3d., leaving a net surplus of £'oBS Us. 2d. Tho total surplus from the bazaar and pageant was therefore £1349 18s. 7d. Subscriptions were received of £'2G6 125., and further subscriptions promised of £1.88 lCs., making a total of £2003 Gs. 7d. Mrs. S, A. Rhodes most generously promised a further gift of £SUO ( so that the grand total reached tho handsome sum of £2503 65.. 7tl. It was mentioned that a number of supporters had promised additional subscriptions (without specifying definite amounts), and the hope was expressed that these would be paid in within tho next week in order that the accounts may bo finally balanced and audited. A very hearty vote of thanks was enthusiastically passed to Mrs. S. A. Rhodes for her liberality, and the hope was expressed that she would have « speedv recovery and be able to attend the ceremony of laying the foundationstone of the nciv building, which function should soon eventuate. Hearty votes of thanks were also passed l to all the ladies .and gentlemen wlio so generously assisted in connection with either the pageant er bazaar, special reference V'ing made to Miss Holm, Mi'*- J-. i'.-Lakc. Mr..and Mrs. Troup,'and Mr. G. M. Silver, the pageant-master. Appreciation of tho kindness of Ino Mayor (Mr. J. I'. Luke) in allowing tho use of his room for committee meetings was also expressed.
