STRIKE PAY CEASING. ' .WATERSIDERS & SEAMEN AFFECTED. <3y Telcgr.iinii—i'rets Association.) Dunadin, December 5. Unloading operations proceeded on the Kaiapoi, Dorset, Waitomo, Turakina, and Alimiro to-day, and the carters were kept very busy. It is expected that the dischargo of the ltaiapoi will be completed to-morrow, and that sho will leave for Wellington on Monday. The loading of tho Waitomo was finished, and she sailed at 7 p.m. for Auckland, with about 2400 tons ot general cargo. The Mimiro is expected to sail for Brisbane to-morrow morning, but the Dorset and the Turakina will not leave until next week. Messrs. Miller Bros., who have been entrusted with the launching of tho Harbour Board's new tug, approached the Shipwright?,' Union to-day with a viow to engaging members to carry out the necessary work on the vessel. A well-attended meeting of shipwrights was held to-night, when it was decided to reject the olfer to resume, work. Tho tug is expected to be ready for launching in about a fortnight. It, is understood That, tho strike* fund of the old Waterside. Workers' Union is exhausted, and that no further strike payments will bo made in the meantime, it is also reported that tho seamen will receive their final strike pay to-morrow, married men getting 155., and siimlo men 10s., and that this will leave tho local branch with about .Cl5O in hand to meet current expense!!,
